Woodlawn School District
Annually the Woodlawn School District (WSD) reports to the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) an annual Equity Compliance Report which documents compliance with civil rights responsibilities, awareness of consequences of noncompliance with civil rights responsibilities, compiance with the Arkasnass Standards for Accreditation, and feedback on needed guidance and technical assistance.
WSD assures the district complies with state and federal (Constitutionally Protected Prayer, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educadtion Amendments of 1972, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) regulations and prohibit discrimination. The WSD develops plans for implementing and monitoring equitable educational opportunities that are free from discrimination on the basis of race, sex, national origin, age, or handicapping condition.
WSD works proactively with schools and parents to resolve issues at the lowest possible level. and encourages parents to immediately contact the student’s teacher, principal, or program coordinator. regarding oncerns which may be resolved utilizing the school systems’ internal grievance procedures.
