Imagination Library

February/March 2020, Cleveland County became a full- coverage County!

Additional funding beyond the Woodlawn School District was provided by Lucas Moore’s Polar Bear Plunge fundraiser!

In August of 2019, Dr. Sylvia Simon, representing partnerships between the Monticello Medical Clinic and the Dollywood Foundation, attended the Woodlawn Elementary School Open House to sign up children from birth to under age 5 to enter the Imagination Library program which mails books to each child at home each month until the child’s fifth birthday.  The Dollywood Foundation provides funding for half of the cost of each child’s book and the local community raises the other half of the cost of each book.

We are all excited that Cleveland County children have the opportunity to substantually improve literacy rates during elementary years and beyond starting with this program.

For more information please visit the Imagination Library website at www.ImaginationLibrary.com.

To register birth to under age five children for the program. please contact the Woodlawn Elementary School at 870-357-2211.

Remembering Grandparents Day!

The smiles in the pictures are contagious!
We had an outstanding turnout of 234 grandparents for a student body of 274.
In addition to eating lunch, the visitors and children participated in an Apple Tasting Event, attended recess, PE and observed our Math & Literacy classes.
We can not wait until we can return to days like these!
