2020-2021 Dyslexia Program – Take Flight

During the 2020-2021 school year, Woodlawn School District used the evidenced-based Take Flight: A Comprehensive Program for Students with Dyslexia and Phonics First Programs in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention

During the 2020-2021 school year, 32 students attending Woodlawn School District received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia

During the 2020-2021 school year, 48 students attending the Woodlawn School District were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

2019-2020 Dyslexia Program – Take Flight

During the 2019-2020 school year, Woodlawn School District used the evidenced-based Take Flight: A Comprehensive Program for Students with Dyslexia and Phonics First Programs in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention

During the 2019-2020 school year, 43 students attending Woodlawn School District received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia

During the 2019-2020 school year, 48 students attending the Woodlawn School District were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

2019-20 Dyslexia Program – Take Flight 

During the 2019-20 school year, Woodlawn Public School District uses Phonics First for grades K-2 and Take Flight: A Comprehensive Program for Students with Dyslexia for grades 3-12. 

Screening occurs at the beginning of the year and as needed.  K-2 Reading screeners include:   Phonological and phonemic awareness; Sound symbol recognition; Alphabet knowledge; Decoding skills; Rapid naming; Encoding skills.


2018-19 Dyslexia Program – Take Flight

During the 2018-19 school year, Woodlawn Public School District used the evidenced-based Take Flight Dyslexia Intervention Program in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention

During the 2018-19 school year, 22 students attending Woodlawn Public School District received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia

During the 2018-19 school year, 33 students attending Woodlawn Public School District were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.
